COFFEE
When things in life seem too
when
24 hours a day are not enough ...
Remember the mayonnaise jar and coffee.
A teacher before his philosophy class
wordlessly picked up a large bottle and
empty mayonnaise
and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
then asked the students if the jar was full.
students agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles
and poured into the jar of mayonnaise.
The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.
The teacher again asked
students if the jar was full, they returned to say yes.
... teacher then took a box of sand
and poured into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled
all the gaps, so the teacher
asked again if the jar was full.
This time the students responded with an unanimous "yes.
The professor then produced 2 cups of coffee a
contents of the bottle and effectively filling all empty spaces
the sand. The students laughed at this occasion.
When the laughter subsided, the professor said:
"I want you to recognize that this jar represents
life."
golf balls are the important things
As the family, children, health, friends,
everything you love. Things that if everything else is
lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter
as work, home, car, etc.
The sand is everything else, the little things.
"If you put the sand into the jar first,
there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.
If we spend all our time and energy
in small things,
never have room for things that really matter
Pay attention to things that are
critical to your happiness.
Play with your children,
Take time to get medical checkups,
Go with your partner to dinner ,
Practice your favorite sport or hobby.
will always be time to clean house
and fix the water.
Take care of the golf balls first,
of the things that really matter.
Set your priorities, the rest is just sand ..
One student raised his hand and
wonder what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled and said:
"I'm glad you asked ....
just goes to show that no matter
how full your life may seem,
there is always room for a couple of cups coffee with a friend. "
